Beth Isler, P.E. of Resource Systems Group (RSG) and a VT ITE Member, has recently been selected as a 2009 Transportation Scholar by the National Park Foundation. The National Park Foundation takes applications every year for this program and accepts only a limited number of transportation experts and undergraduate students working in the transportation field. These scholars work with the National Park Service to consider ways to solve transportation challenges in national parks and encourage alternative transportation at these parks. Beth has been assigned to the Virgin Islands National Park to initiate a transportation study to improve traffic operations and safety and look for ways to reduce vehicular trips in the Park. Beth will be in the Virgin Islands from June to December 2009.
